The Financial Aid office assists students with all matters related to financial aid, including scholarships, grants and loans, as well as questions about eligibility and the financial aid application form (FAFSA) and process.

Financial Aid Application (FAFSA) Deadlines
Priority will be given to applications submitted by or on:
- June 1, 2024 for the Fall 2024 semester
- November 1, 2024 for the Spring 2025 semester
- April 1, 2025 for the Summer 2025 semester
(Note: Students may submit the FAFSA after the published deadlines but it is not guaranteed that their financial aid will be awarded in time for the tuition payment deadline.)
Verification Document(s) for Federal Aid
Priority will be given to those who submit documents by or on:
- Fall semester: July 1
- Winter semester: November 20
- Spring semester: December 18
- Summer semester: May 1
To maintain federal aid, students must provide documentation showing SAP by or on:
- Fall semester: November 15
- Spring semester: April 15
- Summer semester: July 15
Federal Loan Request
Students must submit requests by or on:
- Fall semester: December 5
- Spring semester: April 30
- Summer semester: August 1
- Non-verification student loan requests will take up to 5 business days to process from the time of submission.
- Verification student loan requests are dependent upon when verification is completed. Once verification is completed, it can take up to 5 business days afterwards for awarding.
- During peak periods, the processing time for a loan request can take up to 2 to 3 weeks.
Deadlines for Tuition Aid Grant (TAG), Governor’s Urban Scholarship, NJ STARS, and Community College Opportunity Grant Programs
The FAFSA must be received by the federal processor (not postmarked) by the dates below to be considered for state aid (the Tuition Aid Grant (TAG), Governor’s Urban Scholarship, NJ STARS, and Community College Opportunity Grant programs).
Students who received TAG during the 2023-2024 academic year:
New applicants for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters:

Disbursements
- Fall semester: October 8, 2024
- Spring semester: February 25, 2025
- Summer semester: July 8, 2025
For students owed a refund, the Student Accounts department will begin processing refunds within 2 weeks of the scheduled disbursement date and will continue throughout the term.
Students unsure if they are owed a refund are encouraged to contact the Cashiers Office by emailing cashier_mail@middlesexcc.edu
Scholarships
- Fall semester: opens April 1; closes June 15
- Spring semester: opens October 1; closes December 15
(Note: Scholarship awards are generally posted to the student account by the tuition payment deadline.)
